Welcome
Who we
are — Leiston,Saxmundham & District Citizens Advice Bureau is a registered charity. We
are part of Citizens Advice, which provides
training, information, and other essential support services to its network
of 700 Bureaux in England and Wales. Our Bureau started in 1987. The first CABx in the country were set up originally to give advice and information on all the issues brought about by World War II, like
questions on ration books, missing persons, housing problems, etc. They were
the official searcher service in the event of bombs falling in their areas.
Today the Bureaux deal with thousands of clients every year on a range of
subjects too diverse to list. The main query areas are benefits, debt,
employment and housing. Our Bureau is mainly staffed by a team of
fully-trained volunteer advisers, backed up by a dedicated support staff.
We are always looking for more volunteers and if you would be interested
in helping out the local community in this way, click here.
